Because World of Warcraft has been the leading culprit in dumbing down the genre to make it easy enough for the mainstream audience who has never heard of an MMO before to hop in and enjoy. Now, this isn't necessarily bad. But the soaring popularity of World of Warcraft has pigeonholed the entire industry into creating clones in order to be successful.

That was fun.

Ok, in all reality, rage and the lady friend get stomped, call for help and when any one comes to help Vael runs away.

Rory is first to arrive due to surge, and he tends to the wounded rather than chase Vael.

When I am a guest at a convention I am there to entertain people and add to the fun they have at the event. thus, unless the game session is advertised as one where the objective is to kill the PCs--and I've done a few of those--I try to keep PCs alive. Of course if a player doesn't want to have his character survive, the natural selection process of the game environment will take over.

Only the prime and the whistle landed on the planet.

On the Prime, Farrell requests to talk to Kahn.
The Yeoman bringing Kahn the request says something about Farrell needing to complete the huge amounts of paperwork needed for the unscheduled repairs that were performed before we left Yavin. Oh and to apologize.

Fenrir: “Admiral Kahn, the repairs should be completed within the hour.”

Adm. Kahn arrives at the brig package in hand and nods at the guard who relaxes, and steps aside. He enters and looks back. You are relived sergeant.

<Farrell> Ah!? My captor appears.

<Kahn> Now don't be like that. I brought lunch and drinks. You should be grateful! He reveals two heaping sandwiches and some exotic liquor that matches very well.

<Farrell> <eyes the, food then Kahn. After a moment he takes a sandwich. Without a word>

<Kahn> <notices the lack of thanks.> I think we need to arrive at some understanding here. I neither ordered nor intervened in what happened. I was watching your command style. Veeeery interesting that. It seems the bridge crew felt ... what’s the term? Relieved? …at the thought of someone else in charge? Despite your passing off responsibilities …

<Farrel> Hah! You should talk! You have been undermining my authority from day 1.

<Kahn> Now that’s hardly true. I have attempted to stay out of your business and let you run your ship but I recall that you sir. YOU! [Jabs a finger into Farrell solar plexus {Farrell poorly hides a wince of pain}] surrendered command to ME! Not by my request mind you. The flood of datapad requests coming my way has been a constant irritation.

<Farrell> [smirking]

<Kahn> On the upside it allowed me a particular advantage. The advantage is one of perspective. You see it is quite clear that you are quite inept.

((correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you just let him out))

Farrell leaves the brig and heads to his quarters and changes his uniform.

He then walks to the bridge at the amazement of the crew. He walks up to a yeoman and asks for the paperwork for the repairs done before we left Yavin and the paperwork for the recent repairs.

Farrell apologizes to the crew and explains he will be in his office.

Report from Rogue Squad, ship was disabled after a short battle. Two escape pods were launched and we could not intercept them fast enough. The escape pods trajectory indicates they are in the northern hemisphere.

On the planet we see the two smoke trails from the escape pods. Think Star Trek III but not as large as the Enterprise. The students are still in the dojo. Rage is ok after a short rest, for game terms 20 HP, and so is Alegnia.

Rory: "What do we do with the students? It also seems like Vael and his Padawan are returning."
He points to the smoke trails.

It took 30 minutes for the battle with Vael on the planet and in orbit.

Fenrir: “Admiral Kahn, repairs are completed. We are cleared to launch.”

Rory to Kahn via com link: “Admiral, there is at least 6 Padawans here that were being trained by Vael. What do you want us to do with them? Also, do you want us to go after Vael’s escape pod? “

Rage goes to his computer in whatever quarters he has. He contacts Yavin via his terminal and checks repairs of his ship.

"Sir! he Ship is in great shape! Were Applying the paint job as we speak..."

Rage: "So next time i am on planet it should be ready..."

Rage then limps to sickbay and falls into a deep sleep...

Notes of interest and summary of what has happened:

Rage and Alegnia are both aboard the Prime in sick bay attending to their wounds. They will fully recover in a few hours of sitting in a bacta tank.

On the Prime:
Fenrir has reported that all repairs are complete and the prime is ready for launch.

Captain Farrell has yet to leave his office/quarters as he is VERY busy with paper work.

Back at the Dojo, Rory and Sebastian await orders from Kahn about the other students and Vael.

Rory to Kahn [com link]: “Sir request permission to track and hunt down Vael. With Sebastian’s help the two of us can take out this menace.”

Rory to Sebastian: “Are you ready to take him out!?”
