Man, It's been a long time since I have been on this board. Yes the game is still going on. Have gained and lost players but still strong. Here is a Journal entry from our last meeting. Mike is a good writer,
"Leaving something that lasts..." By Michael McClanathan in Pathfinder RPG Group (Files)
We returned to the hermit with our captives in tow amid a flash thanks to the teleportation stick he had given us earlier. The hermit wasn't too thrilled that we couldn't get the crystal but once we explained what happened he seemed to move on especially since we had a drow priestess which is what he was after. There was a bit of confusion on how the payment was to be distributed but we got that all sorted out.
Personally, I walked away with quite a few new "toys" that will help me be a better rogue, especially now that I've developed a couple of new skills that I'm looking forward to using. I also have plenty of money left over to start construction on Trapmaster's Inn/Brewery and my Alchemist Shop in Vigilance. Strategically placed underneath the Alchemist Shop will be a base of operations for a group of information gatherers and item procurers. I'm paying a good bit of gold to have that built without prying eyes and I'm sure that the dwarven laborers that Skrag brought in will keep quiet, especially if given a discount at the brewery. I want to build something that lasts beyond me, something that has a positive influence on the developing town in case I move beyond my mortal shell before I expect to.
I'm also learning a new language, Abyssal. That is truly an evil tongue, but I'm pretty sure no one else in my group speaks it so since we have come across things from the lower planes recently I felt it may be beneficial. Besides, all those new curse words that no one will understand!!!
I spoke with Ser William and explained what we came across in the mines and that the gateway has been closed which set back the designs of the drow for a while (we hope). He seemed rather eager that we are looking to build within town as it will stimulate growth on many levels (especially his tax revenue). He has agreed to not tax us during our construction especially since we are spending so much money in the construction projects for goods, labor, and services. Everyone in town wins.
I also had a chat with Mr. Cartwright, and apparently the reason he's been working to help the drow is because they kidnapped his daughter and he hasn't heard from them in weeks regarding her. I feel bad that we were taking care of so many things during our time in town that we didn't leave right away but on the flip side of that coin we needed the rest desperately.
So we are now on our way back to the mines where many adventurers have gone now looking for treasure since they heard of our successful return. None of the adventurers has returned successful; there is a humanoid guarding the cave entrance now who seems to be extremely powerful and is killing anyone who tries to get in, that and the sighting of another purple worm should make this adventure fun.
Our first night out as we were bedded down, a group of spectres floated through. They were going to leave us be, I believe, but we have a couple of rather zealous members so we attacked them. Skrag grew rather mightily and Trev also gave his weapon the ability to hit the insubstantial creatures. Honestly, when one came after me, I ran. Those things are nasty and I really had nothing to fight them with. There was some searing light from the cleric and Skrag took one out and the rest fled. We should get to the cave during the day... I wonder what awaits? Well, at least the construction has been started, I just hope I'll be alive to check on it and see the final result. Cayden help me...
