My interest in this project has almost gone to zero for a few reasons. #1 Time We all know what is going on. #2 I found this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full_ThrustThis full thrust game seems to be close to what we were trying. I don't want to abandon this project but I get the feeling it isn't going to go anywhere any time soon. I also am thinking of changing this from a d10 system to a d6. There is too much math involved in the current game. I have an idea that just gives each group one die to roll and the # of ships adds pips / bonuses to that die roll. The down side to that is that d6 or d10 really isn't too potent. What does it matter with an extra d6 when you are rolling 1d6+79? Maybe the system could be 1d100? That would make that die roll significant. An example 1d100+79 vs 1d100+63. We need to play test it more but like #1 we don't have the time. Just because I'm not around doesn't mean you can't play. Just play the game if you want the rules are in the forums.
IMO the current problems with this system are as follows: #1 Too much math. The game isn't simple at all and can be rather confusing adding up everything. #2 There is no easy way to pack up and continue a game.
