Name: Johan Hegg Title: Disciple of Thor, Guardian of Asgaard F Incredible (40) - 10 A Excellent (20) - 3 S Excellent (20) - 3 E Excellent (20) - 3 R Typical (6) - 0 I Good (10) - 1 P Good (10) - 1 Popularity Good (10) Resources Typical (6) Health: 100 Karma: 26 Powers: Electrical Generation Remarkable (30) - 6 Electrical Control Excellent (20) - 3 Force Field Excellent (20) - 3 or EC Power Stunt? Flight Typical (6) - 0 Talents: Weapon - Hammer Fighting Skill - Thrown Object for lightning bold(?) Mystic Origin (??) - Was a Guardian of Asgaard transfered to now to help humankind in Midgaard before Ragnarok. Contacts: Mythology - Asgaardians Weakness: All powers come from the hammer and he must be in physical contact to use them. History: Johan was originally a Guardian of Asgaard and a devote follower of Thor. In recognition Thor gave him a hammer with some of the powers of Mjöllnir and transported him into the play universe and time. Johan's purpose is to protected humans from others with power and to strengthen them for the time of Ragnarok. Character: Johan is completely determined to give his life to further his and Thor's purpose. "One life or a thousand lives, it makes no difference; I will freely sacrifice." Because of my unfamiliarity with the Marvel system I would like suggestions to help improve him - especially with some of the powers. For example what works better having Force Field Excellent or putting the points into Electrical Control and then learning a power stunt to make a force field? Is there a talent for shooting lightning bolts from the hammer? The one point in I is basically a throw away P is more important to show determination.

The Fighting attribute covers fighting hand to hand. If you're going to be concerned with hitting with lightning or ranged attacks, you'll want Agility.
Power stunts are nice, but you'll have to earn a decent amount of Karma to make it a permanent ability, so it's really a matter of how much instant gratification you are after, you can have the force field power now, or you can develop it later.
There are a series of books called the Realms of Magic books for Marvel, they cover magic based heroes in further detail. One of the options there is a hero that gains his powers from magical items. That could work better if you want the powers to come from the hammer, and magic powers would also fit into the empowered by the gods theme. Usually each magic item has a separate power, though they're called spells in the magic book. I don't think there would be much of a problem with having 4 spells in a hammer though, the only real difference is it would be easier to lose the 1 item. However, a magic hammer, some magic armor, a magic viking helmet, etc. could also probably fit into the theme that you are looking for.
There are spells for energy blasts, and energy control, which could be electrical, there are also shield spells that are similar to force fields and a flying spell, so you could do the same powers that you chose, but have them based on some magic items instead.
As far as Talents, Blunt Weapons would cover a hammer, but Throwing would only apply to items that you actually throw, there isn't a talent to help hit with energy blasts. We have 2 talents to start, so Mystic Origin would end up using too many, however, that is only part of the characters background, and you shouldn't need it. I would suggest taking the Weapon Specialist* Talent with hammers, it would be the only talent that you could take, but it would make you very dangerous with the warhammer.
It also might be a good idea to lower your Fighting a bit, and concentrate more to bump up Agility and Strength, if you put those all at remarkable you'd be decent at melee with the hammer, and at ranged with energy blasts.
You also have 1 more contact that you can select. Since your character is going to be a servant of Thor, you could select him as a Hero contact. I wouldn't expect him to be personally involved heavily into the campaign, but he could take on a useful mentoring role.
I'll try to help if you have any other questions about the system.

Thanks Randy!
Couple of things: My reading of the combat section states that hand weapons use Fighting. I did move attributes around to increase Agility as you suggested and increased Intuition (now it has some use). Paul had already mentioned having the hammer Magical. After some consideration (looks to be some nice benefits of magic) it seemed more IC to just have the hammer grant Johan specific powers. This also makes sure that I stay away from the magic system (as I usually do the first time with a new system).
Awesome on the weapons specialization!!!!!!
I did not add Hero Contact because of the possible conflict with Marvel Thor's story (which I didn't know about until after I thought of this). I added it but that will really be more of a background than useful. The mythology contact could be of use though I would have to work that out with Paul.
Anyway here is the update character:

Looks like a solid character. The only thing that I notice is that you have 10 popularity, which is the starting value, but then a public or secret identity is chosen, which adds as a modifier, with a public identity you get +10 for a total of Excellent 20 for popularity, but everyone knows that you're a hero, even when you're not in costume. The secret identity lowers popularity by -5 to Typical 5, but then you can hang out without your costume and not be mobbed by paparazzi.

Popularity? Costume? Paparazzi? Johan is the chosen of Thor! No need for fluff.
