I'm going to try my best here to remember all the fun characters I've played. Most of you that know me know my memory sucks so I'm going to try my best. Most of these characters were short lived and I only got to play them once or a few times.
My first RPG character ever was a D&D 2nd edition bard. I don't remember the name but the character ended up being 6th level. I was probably 11 years old.
Val Halle / Dualman Mott - Was a Defel bodyguard in the old Star Wars West End Games system. Being a Defel he was my first stealthy character. His theme was that he used stun batons and would knock out opponents rather than kill them. This helped a lot for his bounty hunter career. He also had dual IDs and ran by the name of Dualman Mott. While under this alias he donned heavily modified bounty hunter armor and acted more bad ass.
Syl Teega - A Cerean force adept from the original Star Wars D20 system. This guy was my first character that used the force. He was a highly logical being that saw the benefits of both the light and dark side of the force. Think Mr. Spock meets a Jedi.
Barrach To – A basic edition thief. I don’t remember much about him due to him being a GMPC and I never got to fully run his personality. I have his character sheet still.
Brother Gray – Another thief that I only got to play twice.
Vincero DeMagini – I only played him once and I can’t even remember the name of the system. I think it was CoC. He was a good old 1930’s style mobster that was very good with a tommy gun and shot gun.
Unknown – This was a 3.5 game that I stopped playing in back at my days at College of Dupage. This character was all bark and no bite. He originally started as a magic user but due to him biting off more than he can chew I took a few levels in thief for stealthy abilities. His best moments of fame/infamy were one time he started a fight in a tavern and hide under the table during the small fight. During the “clearing” of the air between the party members and the people in the tavern I snuck upstairs and found the deed to the tavern. Once I had the deed I forced the owner to sign it over to me and then I killed him. I then retired the character due to him finding more profit and less danger than adventuring.
Ars Magica (Mage) - I don’t remember the characters name but I am sure I can find the sheet. I remember really enjoying that character. He was a shut in and spent most of his time studying (as do most mages in the game) but he acted very sheltered. However rather than being afraid of things he didn’t know he would often run to them to explore them. I did not play him chaotic stupid though, if I was something clearly dangerous he wouldn’t go running into it. He was an elementalist and worked mostly on creating or destroying.
Ars Magica (Companion) – I don’t remember his name but just like the mage I could probably find his sheet. I loved playing this character. In Ars Magica the mages were accompanied on missions by soldiers called grogs. This character was the captain of the grogs. He was very obedient and protective of the mages and enjoyed training the other grogs.
Brother Neil – A D&D fourth edition Cleric that was a priest of the Raven Queen. Neil was another fun character to play. He was arrogant but not to the point of hubris. He was more elegant than arrogant. This was my first test at playing a combat/social skill hybrid. He often said "Death is a natural fate that cannot be avoided. One must learn to accept thy fate. I can teach you this lesson.”
Analog – My other D&D 4th edition character. He was a bard that I wanted to start off as a “ladies man” type of character but by GM “story” I was changed to the pansy of the group. Which bothered me a little but I got over it due to being able to adapt. This character was my true first real attempt at a pure “social” build. He was a supporting character only in combat as his best attack was to “push” opponents back a few squares. It worked well on high towers and cliffs.
Rory – Star Wars RCR and Saga. Most of us here know who Rory is but for those that don’t he is a light saber specialist. He is a member of the Jedi council. I originally planned for the group to kill Rory during one of our first games.
What? – My first Marvel Super Heroes character. He was a 15 year old rich kid that was rather snotty but I never got to play him at his full potential due to him being a GMPC. His main power was much like Rogue but rather than taking the person’s power he touched, he just knocked them out.
Tank – My second Marvel Super Heroes character. He was modeled (personality) after Wolverine and the Punisher. Once again he never saw full RPing potential being the GMPC. His claim to fame was his almost inability to be hurt.
Yellow Jacket – A triple changing transformer that I tried to play but once again GMing got in the way. Yea I know I’ve had a lot of GMPCs but I think I’ve done well with them over the years. He was a yellow F-16 and Lamborghini. His main power was his speed and fast wit. I remember him being rather cocky (Not meant to be one of my main themes).
I just remembered my vampire character. I don't remember much about the system but I choose the vampire that was all disfigured. I took a lot of points in music to make him a superstar. The rational was that his face was deformed but people thought it was his gimmick in the band. His groupies were also his blood pool. I wanna say the band was something like the Silver Skull Band.
