In one of the blogs is this message:

Rule 5: Roleplay First; Roll Dice Second
“I hit AC 18 for 9 points of damage.”
Dull, huh? Where’s the roleplaying? Where’s the narration? Everyone at the gaming table needs to lift some of the event’s narrative weight. One of the best ways to do this is to describe what your character wants to do, toss in some in-character banter, and then roll the dice. Succeed or fail, you should then briefly react as appropriate.
“Grondo grips his greatsword tightly and whirls it in a deadly arc at the orc. ‘Die, pig-nosed scumdog!’” Dice clatter on the table. “I hit AC 18 for 9 points of damage.”

I personally can't stand when people over exaggerate their attacks.

I swore there were some good links in that topic from other blogs, but I can't seem to find them now.

When I am a guest at a convention I am there to entertain people and add to the fun they have at the event. thus, unless the game session is advertised as one where the objective is to kill the PCs--and I've done a few of those--I try to keep PCs alive. Of course if a player doesn't want to have his character survive, the natural selection process of the game environment will take over.

I want to run a game at this event.

Then there is Gary Con in March 2012 and prolly cod con in April 2012.

When I am a guest at a convention I am there to entertain people and add to the fun they have at the event. thus, unless the game session is advertised as one where the objective is to kill the PCs--and I've done a few of those--I try to keep PCs alive. Of course if a player doesn't want to have his character survive, the natural selection process of the game environment will take over.
