For giggles I will write up what happened for my first game.
I will try to put in as much as possible. It was quite a while ago and my memory sucks.
The game was Star Wars d6 west end games version. I remember for some reason we were playing that day at Tony’s and not Randy’s. I remember Tony, Reg, Randy, and I think Crump where there. I don’t remember if Dan was there or not. To understand the mission I will need to give a little back-story.
My character was a defel bounty hunter named Val Halle. We’ve run into him at least twice in our current Saga games.
To help understand the race I suggest going here:
starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Defel
The character also had dual identities. It is exactly what it sounds like, Val Halle was also a bounty hunter named Dualmann Mott. He would choose which ID he was using depending on his appearance. He had a heavily modified fully enclosed suit of armor that he wore when he was his Dualmann persona.
At the time I joined the group we were already known and had huge bounties on us. My character was going to infiltrate the group and then capture them. This changed once he realized that there was some honor in the group and he came up with a plan to wipe the slate clean with their bounties.
The plan was that Dualmann would capture the team and then collect the bounties then spring them as Val.
About all I can really remember is the capture point. My character leads everyone into a room with floors that produced stun damage. They walked into the room and got knocked out. Everyone but Reg who made it his point to keep using character points to remain conscious. I keep electrocuting him until he gave in. I remember him being mad and thinking back on it I should have just killed him outright for being a dick. Why should you be mad? The empire can keep electrocuting the floor so why keep being a dick? Good for you dick, you are a dick. Is there a point to your dickery? Are you upset about not being in control? There was no point in being a dick at this point other than to be a dick. I will never forget. The trap was sprung, be lucky I didn’t have the balls to just send you out an airlock. We were brought into a room by Dualmann where he then collected the bounty for everyone. Dualmann left and removed his armor and sprung the group and splitting the bounty with the party. He then explained it and we went on about our business.
As you can tell there was that one point that I will never forget. Was it railroading on my part? To an extent yes. I felt it was stupid that the empire would only have one charge on the stun floor. What happens in real situations where one person refuses to go down? You keep getting your ass stomped. There was no point other than he was just being a dick. What I should have done was allowed him to get up and then get owned by the guards. I remember getting up often mid game and asking Tony, this is what I want to do, how do I do this?
The game was bad I admit that, but with no help from anyone on what makes a good GM and the “master” GM acting like a dick what does anyone expect?
One part of my life I am glad it happened and even more happy that it will never happen again and never again with them. Thank god!
