Greetings all.
I started gaming in junior high with D&D 2.0 and have since been playing in a weekly 4.0 game and am hungry for more!
I moved into the Joliet area and have been living here for 2 years now. D&D has been my love, I gave Star Wars a try and found it dull, I also enjoy playing Magic.
I really enjoy 4.0 and what it has brought to the table and am hoping I can find more here.
Thanks all, Brian

Welcome to the boards.
Why did you find Star Wars Dull? And what system of Star Wars was it?

If I were to make an assumption it would be based off his enjoyment of 4th. With fourth everyone has a lot “powers” and “abilities” and plays like a computer game. With Star Wars only the Jedi have what really appear to be powers.
Thinking about this makes me kind of laugh. I’m not trying to open a dialog against our favorite ex player but that person (and many others) thought that the Jedi are too over powered. This is true in the first few levels but as I’m seeing with Jim’s and Geoff’s build that even the Jedi would have a hard time beating them.
I think the major complaint I see about Star Wars is the fact that people believe the game is all Jedi. In fact that is rather true but what people FAIL to realize is that there shouldn’t be a direct competition between the characters/players. Yes Jedi #1 and Jedi #2 can do some awesome things, but to quote the Rock (can’t believe I’m doing this) know your role and shut your mouth.
The type of game also changes things drastically. Jedi are really great in combat and only fair at other things. I think that our favorite ex player also felt that there might have been too much combat. Without multiclassing a Jedi is really just a one man show, and even with multiclassing the Jedi becomes weaker at other things. IE Bob.
It is all about build and game type.
Our current game is a good example:
Rory = Lightsabers Sabby = Force Powers
We are great at combat on the ground. What happens when we have to hack into a computer, treat injury, persuasion, etc? We suck at it. That is where the other PARTY members help. We also are not very good in space combat.
We could make a force persuasion Jedi or Pilot.
I’m rambling.

I'm trying to get you and Phil together to play some PF. I might play too if the time and day works out.
