Hey ya'll,
My name's Nathan, I'm 22, and I'm looking to RP. I've been playing for 6 years, and have DM'ed a few times (but am only looking to play at the moment). It's kinda hard to say what's unique about me, but I guess I'll say what my rules as a DM were, so that way you can hopefully tell what I like as a player.
Fun first, rules later.
If it makes a good story and is fun, do it.
If it's not fun why are we doing it?
I've spent the most amount of time with 3.5 and 4th edition, although I have played Star Wars Saga edition and Mutants and Masterminds. While I have no other games under my belt I'd love to try anything that anyone's doing, and will gladly step out of my comfort zone for a chance to play.
... I guess that's it. I'll be in this area (Joliet) for a few months, and then I'm going off to university, so I won't be here for long. But I'd certainly like to have fun while I'm here.

What times / days are you available?
If you've read the forums you can tell right now we are mostly just playing star wars. I am finishing up my campaign but that doesn't mean that it is closed for new players/characters. I've also kept a record of what has happened in our games for over a year so if you want to catch up with the current story the sw journal would the place to go.

I'm in Joliet on Tuesdays and Thursdays and am available after 3:30 pm at the earliest, 5:30 at the latest. I can be out on those days until....whenever.
I work at Micky D's in Wilmington, so the schedule is variable. What doesn't change, however, is Saturday work. Saturdays on principle are bad. Mondays and Wednesdays are iffy. Sundays are pretty much good 3:30 and on, however. Fridays are open.

So I've been taking a look through the Star Wars game, and it looks awesome! This is what I gleaned.
We're in New Republic era.
Anakin Skywalker is alive, and not Darth Vader. Dunno how that happened, but there's my guess.
This is a completely new New Republic era, and seems to have nothing to do with the books. At least...so far.
I think that's awesome. I like changing Star Wars history and such, so this is ideal for me. If my schedule fits with what you guys do I'd love to join.

We play mostly on satuday night now due to getting the most people that day.
Bob is starting up his game again due to his new hours. I think he is running D&D 4e.

Give me what times on Saturdays, and I'll try to get my hours changed. I haven't RP'ed in a coupla months, and I'm pretty anxious to play.

Lemont- ouch, that's a fair bit away from me (Braidwood). I really wish I could get that far...
Naperville's pretty bad too, but if you guys play in Joliet it'd be more than worth the trip. Where are you guys playing this Saturday? Cause if you're playing in Joliet I'd be able to show up after work (eta 9:30?) I have the core book for Star Wars, and was thinking about playing a Force adept. I can't remember off the top of my head if you guys are playing against Sith or not, but if you are I was going to make a dark-ish Force adept who wants revenge against the Sith for the destruction of his family, and is willing to team up with the Jedi to eliminate the Sith. I don't know what level you guys are at, but your updates were talking about high saber level skills, which seems to imply at least 8th level.
Lemme know, I"m really excited for any possibility, no matter how small!

We used to play at my place in joliet but then we got our hours changed.
Jim, myself, geoff, bob all work together in naperville. Bob just got a new job so saturdays are out for him now. Dan lives 10 minutes from where we work so we just play after work at Dan's. The other guy that we don't work with (Joel) lives 15 minutes from Dan.
In a perfect world we be back playing at my place or you'd meet me at my place and we'd go together to naperville.

Like paul said...we used to work together in Naperville, when we got off work we would go to Dans. 2 of our co-workers joined us. Now I have a new job so I cant always show up...but one of my co-workers does sometimes.
Also, I have a game on Thursdays (in lemont) with myself and 4 other people currently.

It's been a long time since I last played this way. I have already graduated from university and my passions have changed a bit.
