Since some of you have taken an interest at the GM chair I figured I'd share some some good links: #1 I really like this one, the reading is fair and easy to understand. The advice is good I only wish the colors were different. www.fantasylibrary.com/lounge/dave1.htm#2 This one is ok, but there are so many things I disagree with. Also Ms Champman seems to have a bit of a chip on her shoulder. She is rather condescending with comments like "and the crappy ones who get off on power trips and are far too pleased by the sound of their own voice." and "But games that go walk a bit, kill stuff, walk a bit, kill stuff, etc. are really boring to all but the most juvenile players." Whoa lady who are you to judge. I also disagree with this: "A good GM would never put low-level characters up against high-level monsters" A good GM should include realism to any situation. There are battles that shouldn't be won simply because people subscribe to the idea the characters should always win because they are the characters. She sounds like a jilted ex wife. kimberlychapman.com/rpg/goodgm.html
