Since the house rules section is getting a little crowded, I just made a new thread for this. Reg, as far as setting, I believe we'll be doing a generic Marvel setting, close to the 1980's setting. I haven't followed the comics, so I have a gist of the general heroes, but no clue about the latest changes. I'm in the same boat, so there probably won't be too many comic references rather generic with a cameo here and there. So far this is what I'm planning. We (for whatever reason) are near Astoria Oregon. I only borrowed the name from The Goonies, I am not running us as the Goonies. Most of the youth of the town are rather limited in career choices. Tourism, timber, fishing, or signing up for Coast Guard Group / Air Station Astoria in near by Warrenton. For many years the town has been protected by a superhero (Name yet to be created - The Hero is Named Big Red). A year ago, this hero was unable to rescue an entire family from a mysterious fire. Since then crime has been growing at an alarming rate and the once proud hero is becoming more reclusive. |

Story Update - Next Game Setup -
It has been a week since the Night of Fire (The Media in the area isn't too creative and dubbed our night of fun, the Night of Fire). There has not been any more sightings from the man in the blue and yellow cape, and there has only been one major break in. The break in was at another US military warehouse. Once again advanced electronics were stolen. In other news, the once and proud Big Red has been identified as local computer salesman Bryan Bernicky. Since losing the armor Bryan's house has been swarming with news reporters and TV crews. Police Chief Mellow has sent us to Bryan's home to get the media to leave and to ask if Bryan has any information on the recent disappearance of Dr. Richard Wang, a local inventor that works for the US military.
Other points of interest: Elaina has been spending large amounts of time with The Tank. Together they have discovered some of her powers, two of which have a relation to dark force. When not with Elaina, The Tank has been bouncing with Bouncer at the Flophouse to help pay for the costs of putting a hole in the wall.
Other News:
Elgin Perkins is continuing his pursuit to purchase the lakefront property known as the goon docks. He is suing Irving Walsh for rights to the property claiming that payment in jewels in not a valid form of payment. The jewels were appraised at a much higher rate than the property in question but Mr. Perkins is citing breach of contract due to improper and late payment. It took the Walsh's three extra weeks to appraise the gems.
One Eyed Willie's ship is still at large.

((Once again a week has gone by - Original Thread Started on Jul 22, 2009, 11:38am)) Front Page:The man in the blue cape has been revealed, it is our once proud hero Big Red. It was confirmed last week by Officer Jones that Bryan Bernicky (Big Red) is the mastermind behind the recent warehouse break ins. Now going by the name of Azurel, he was stopped by a group of new heroes and his evil planned revealed. After kidnapping Dr. Wang, Azurel forced him into creating robots and bringing the Big Red suit to life. Azurel's base of operation was discovered in a warehouse on the corner of 36th Street and Columbia River Highway where it was quickly rendered inoperable by our new heroes. 
In other news: The night of fire riot was contained by our new protectors. There was a reported $200,000 worth of damage to local buildings, two deaths, and multiple arrests.
Cleaning up the TownLocal environmentalists are seeking assistance in cleaning the ocean (and downtown from the riots) of the many robot parts scattered around from the battle at the pier. The US coast guard is offering small rewards for the return of their damaged equipment. Their retrieval teams are already organizing locals for the cleanup. Vagrant Eric Adams (better known as The Tank) with his female companion named Elaina (who applied for US Citizenship yesterday) are also assisting in the clean up. ((Any character may help in the clean up and will receive 25 karma for an Act of Charity; this will take up the week.))
Escaped!!!A group of four prisoners have escaped from Kent Institution in Agassiz, British Columbia. A note was left in one of their cells with only one sentence on it that reads: We are coming for you Johan!It was a most unusual escape. The Warden of the prison just walked out with the prisoners giving no reason to why he was doing so. Fight ClubThe Martial Arts tournament at the Flop House continues tomorrow. The Tank is the heavy favorite.

Our heroes vanished into a dark hole only to reveal a most horrific animal. The beast only said one thing after making short work of our new protectors, “I am here to free my kind.” This can only mean one thing. This creature that looks, talks, and acts like Wolfsbane must be in league with Wolfsbane. After all Wolfsbane was not around when our heroes discovered the beast. We must contain these beasts before they get out of control. Bring Wolfsbane to justice for the crimes of his kind!

In other news, displaced Canadian Johan Hegg will be honored in a ceremony celebrating the recent heroic work done by this magnificent hero. The ceremony will start at noon and Johan will be the guest of honor and will be presented with the key to the city.

The ghost of One Eyed Willie has been terrorizing people off the west coast. All attempts to stop him have failed. His ship either vanishes or doesn't take damage from our weapons. They are hoping people with our abilities might be able to stop One Eyed Willie.Before Thor leaves he explains that the two werewolves are descendants of Geri and Freki, Odin's two wolves. The Shade has gone back to school with The Phasor. Johan vanished into the night. |

Played on May 30th 2010 Game Notes: The group flew in a helicopter to rescue a family after their boat capsized in a freak storm. A masked hero (Jetstream but we don’t know that) flew in and was able to control the storm long enough for us to rescue the ones on the boat. The cable between the rescue basket and the helicopter was sabotaged. After the rescue we cleaned up, got our dance lessons got dressed, and went to a charity event (in Seattle) thrown by Tony Stark in honor of fallen police officers. During the charity event almost everyone got a little buzzed or drunk. During a speech by Stark it was apparent that one of One Eyed Willie’s possessed Stark and starting talking about eating everyone’s children. This prompted the ever so heroic Vigilant to slug Stark to the back of the head which actually made the ghost leave. We heard the sound of Big Red’s rockets and then went outside to confront the evil group of five. A battle ensued and Bane went down. Iron Man swooped in and joined the battle. After a few rounds twelve sentinels showed up. The two groups put aside their differences and battled the giant robots defeating them all.
