I'm sure we all remember this:
New Rules: It’s Saga Time:
There will be no need for the companion characters anymore. You can either choose to play your Jedi or your companion after a mission briefing. For story purposes the characters are still around and if needed they will be run like an NPC.
The story remains the same as well as the characters. Try your best to recreate your Jedi as close to your original as possible. Race and characteristics are the most important. When I recreated Rory I didn’t have to have him trained in mechanics, but since his character was learning how from the tech specialist I only felt it fair that he took the skill. I don’t all of a sudden want to see a once Jedi character start down the path of a gunslinger. Try to keep the character as close as possible to how you played it. We are all level four characters (6,000 EXP regardless of what you have) and if you wanted to recreate your companions (or create one) they are all level two. I do not want to try and do the conversion, just make the characters over; it isn’t that hard to do. The Excel sheet that Harry found is rather nice and all our characters races are in it. I did notice that the attack modifiers for the weapons do not update after a level increase, so when you recreate your character, put your weapons in last. The excel file also adds an extra +2 damage to weapons. I can’t figure out if I am missing something or the file just adds and extra +2. Just make a note of this when you are playing your character and like always double check to see if everything on the file is correct. Also don’t change the name of the knowledge skills, if you are going to train in a knowledge skill just write it on your sheet. Retyping it causes errors. The excel file also doesn’t have the changes from the errata. The major difference is the handling of force skills. The errata reads:
”p. 85 – Force Training Feat
Under the Special section, the feat should say, "Each time you take this feat, you add to your Force suite a number of new Force powers equal to 1 + your Wisdom modifier."
Make sure you check to see if the amounts of force skills you have match the amount you are suppose to have. If it is wrong then you can add the skills under the bonus tab in the file. The file doesn’t work with open office. For those that use open office I guess you will have to type out your characters and send them to me, or find a sheet to fill out or something. All characters must be sent to me.
I am going to create a conversion for ship creation using the base stats from the Saga books and my starship book. This is only for those who wish to create your own ship. (The Prime, The Bunny’s Ship, and unfortunately Rory ship are not in the Saga books)
I was reading about the destiny system and here is my take on it: Anyone can take a destiny but your destiny must be approved by me. This includes bonus, penalty, and fulfillment. Your destiny must at least answer who, what, and why. If anyone wishes to implement a destiny then they will start with four destiny points for your Jedi, and two for a companion or one point per level. There are a few example destinies in the book as well as bonuses, penalties, and fulfillments. The more creative you are, the more lenient I will be on bonuses and penalties. This is entirely optional; I will allow anyone to do this even if they are the only person doing it. Destinies can also be held confidential if you wish. This is an example of what I’m expecting:
Name: Fenrir (Picture not required)
Technology:
Your destiny is to discover the secrets of the droid that was brought to you by Rory and his friends. It is embedded into his race to be fascinated by new devices and unfamiliar machinery. While working diligently to avoid any unwanted Imperial attention Fenrir keeps his findings mostly to his trusted inner circle.
Destiny Bonus: For 24 hours you get a +2 on all your mechanics skill checks.
Destiny Penalty: For 24 hours you get a -2 on all your mechanics skill checks.
Destiny Fulfilled: You get a permanent +5 destiny bonus on all mechanics skill checks.
The book explains that the GM or a player can pick the destiny. I saw nothing in the book that said we can’t do both, unless I missed it. So far I’ve created secret destinies for both Dan and Harry’s characters. For those with secret destinies I will try my best to give everyone a chance to role play their character to earn their destiny bonus. If I can’t find the opportunity then the characters will not receive their bonus or penalty. I do not want to have characters have destinies that take place between adventures, or things that happened OOC. Fenrir is a perfect example. If Fenrir was not an NPC character, I would expect him to work on the droid as much as possible in game. This could easily be done by the situations I would put him in. Example: We (The party and Fenrir) are going to travel across the galaxy for a new mission. At this point I EXPECT Fenrir to say “Ok guys, but I’m bringing the droid with me to work on during the voyage.” If that happened, then Fenrir will get his destiny bonus, if it didn’t then he will get his penalty.
Old Stuff which is the same as the stuff before:
Stats: No Rolling - Using point method (Planned Character Generation) - 25 Points
Max Credits at starting
All characters will be given starting EQ. This EQ will not be taken from their starting credits. The gear is field kit (with all that comes with it), comlink, and a medpac. The characters did not lose any gear, if you found things during the prior games, then your characters still have the gear.
Max Vitality (Hit Points) rather than rolling during a level up.
No Class or Multiclass restrictions:
Prestige Classes allowed.
Allowed Races:
Any of the alien species listed as normally available for PCs can be selected for a character. In addition to this, other alien species listed in the "Allies and Enemies" section are permissible, with the exception of the Yuuzhan Vong.
