Rory, Kahn, Khel are going space junk destroying.
Kahn is on the Prime coordinating the attack patterns we are going to practice.
Rory is on the Whistle awaiting instructions.
I'm just getting things started.
There is a large piece of junk just ahead.
Khel's ship really starts out sluggish but with every turn and manuver you get a feel for it and start to become comfortable.
Rory drops back for Khel to take point.
Rory: "Lets see what she can do Khel!"

(comlink) "Just make sure to keep up.", Kheldim replies before accelerating the Atheria into the junk area.
"Osulu! Uffou! To the guns!" and both head of to the upper and lower gun pits with bets on who'll score the most hits.
"Olf, grab a seat in the cockpit. Keep an eye on any stray debris and let me know if I'm coming in too close. No need to scar the Atheria up before she's had a chance to stretch her legs."
Looking over to Veje Hex, Kheldim says "Keep an eye on the navigation scanners. Last thing I want is to be surprised by an imperial ship while we're joyriding about on a shakedown cruise."
With a grin to Taea Tuiox, "Now it's time to see if these republic mechanics knew the difference between a wrench and a phase coupler."

((I'm going to use this as a beginers guide to space combat))
First thing that we do differently is instead of using base attack bonus for firing ships weapons we use pilot skill if you are using the weapons designated "pilot". We only use BAB if we are using weapons designated "gunner".
The stock 1300 only has one set of guns and only for the gunner position.
For this little thingy I'm just going to use your BAB in place of the gunners.
So the math = Ships Intel Mod (+2) +BAB (+4) + Range (-2 Short) + Roll. To advance the story lets say the gunner hits and scatters debris all over the place.
You'd then roll your pilot skill to avoid the debris. Which I just like to make a base DC. For story purposes, you avoided most of it, minor paint damage. ((You are now a better pilot than Rory, I retrained skill focus for another feat.))
While flying the ship you turn and notice that Taea is no where to be found.

Looking out into space you notice a single container. It is not debris or junk like the rest of the stuff. You look close enough you can still see the red light flashing on it indicating a security lock.

Aboard the Atheria... "Now what's that...", Kheldim muses as he calls up a closer image of the item on the navigation console. He immediately veers towards the object and slows the Atheria down a bit to get a closer sensor scan of the item.
(over ship intercom) "Veje, I may have found some salvage worth taking a look at so I'm slowing down. Keep an eye out for any debris in danger of striking us. Otherwise don't shoot anything yet."

You are able to get the desk sized object on board. Sir, 6 incomming fighters! (2 interceptors, 4 normal ties) Rory: "We got company, what the hell are you doing over there!Rory heads off full speed into the lead fighter shoots and misses. Rory: "Damn it, what a hell of time to retrain my piloting skill. ((I'm just being silly, he wouldn't say this IC))

Silencing the warning light on the navigation console, Kheldim yells into the comlink, "Rory, the Atheria is coming up behind you. We'll follow your lead.", before hopping back into the pilot seat. The Atheria instantly banks into a course to accompany the Whistle.
Over the Atheria's intercom, "Veje, feel free to fire back on those imperials at any time! Unless you want us to be the space debris that the next ship comes along to use for target practice."

You did see Taea in the engine room just kind of staring off into space.
The TIEs make up the distance between us rather quickly.
Initiatives: Rory: 30 (crit) Khel: 11 Fighters: 20
Rory: Shields were up before this attack run. He closes the gap to a TIE interceptor and shoots with his cannons. (This is rory’s second crit) 30 to hit / Hit Damage = 45*3 = 135 = DR = 10 Total damage is 125. Destroyed
Fighters – Both interceptors shoot at Rory 1st roll = 11 = Miss 2nd roll = 20 = Hit Vehicular Combat roll = 24 / Shot missed

The Atheria‘s Turn Khel as the pilot fights defensively for a +5 to reflex defense. Khel looks down at the instruments and the power meters spike the gunner shoots and destroys a TIE. After the shot the power levels return to normal. The Prime swoops in and easily takes out the remaining TIEs.
Taea comes walking into the cockpit, all full of grease and her hands are shaking. She looks scared and says, what did I do?

Rory: "Request permission to dock with The Atheria Captain Khel!" his voice sounds like he is in a hurry. Taea falls down, doesn't faint but acts like she is exhausted.
